The Benchmade 4x 系列全家福

蝴蝶梦

补充点资料贴，来自美国俄亥俄州的蝴蝶公司（Benchmade）产品线比较完善，近几年他的直跳也比较拉风，但对Balisong玩家来说，Benchmade仅仅只有一个代名词：蝴蝶刀官方厂家



从国外搬运来一点最著名也是最经典的BM 4X（41-49）系列资料，供大家参考吧，原来我们不知道、没见过的型号还有这么多！


Everything here is to the best of my knowledge, which has been gleaned from sources like Balisong Collector, Balislingers website (Mystik linked to it) and reading from various of the high-end collectors (thegoodedge, Tone888, Dawkind, etc.)

The first 4Xs were the 45 and 48, introduced in 1993, marketed as the "deluxe" edition, with investment cast stainless steel handles (as opposed to the die-cast Zamak on the earlier Economy Series, the 259, 239 and so forth). There was also a limited edition 45C (for custom, not clip) that had milled stainless handles.

The 44 was released in 1994.

The 42 was released in 2000, with the other standard 4x blades following closely behind. The spring latch made its debut with the Benchmade 49 SPL I believe, which has a square skeletonized post, what we now know as the fancy latch, but what was at the time referred to merely as the spring latch. Only the 49 SPL, 49-01, -02, -03 and 43DM have this latch. Afterwards it was simplified to the round, tapering post, but retained the head of the fancy latch. This intermediate latch appears on the 42C, 49-04 and 49-05, and any standard bali from that immediate period. The latch was simplified again to the one we're most familiar with:   Fancy, intermediate, and standard.




The majority of Benchmade 4Xs have investment cast titanium handles. The 46DM, 49 SPL, 49-01, 49-02, 49-03, 43DM and 45C have milled stainless steel handles.

Most first productions are numbered XXX/500. Introductions are typically XXX/200. Prototypes are typically XX/25, unless it's a special edition, in which case there's likely only one or two.
